I had to bring a book back to the library this week, so that’s where my head went when I saw the Illustration Friday theme was “return.” I wish I’d had more time for the illustration — and the book!
This is watercolor and Verithin pencil on Canson Montval paper, with some added color courtesy of Photoshop.
I thought of alligators first, but at the moment it’s my to-do list that’s closing in on me! I’m swamped.
It’s been pouring here on and off, and I couldn’t resist this quote.
This was a bit of experiment, as I wanted to see if I could do a quick piece using fewer, looser, more intense watercolor washes. I’m not entirely happy with the drawing (done with a Pigma Micron, a pen I rediscovered rooting through a pile of art supplies), but it *was* quick. If I did it again, though, I’d definitely put everyone in rose-colored glasses!
Sometimes you have to yield to the inevitable…
This is a slightly updated version of an illustration I did a while ago. It’s watercolor and colored pencil (Prismacolor Verithins), with effects and type courtesy of Photoshop.
Hmmm. I was going to post something else for this Illustration Friday theme, but then this quote jumped out at me. So much for good intentions! The original’s about 7″ x 10″, and it’s once again watercolor and colored pencil on Canson Montval paper.
